My Little Monkey!

Hollis loves to climb and gets himself into all sorts of things these days.  While I was tutoring this morning, Daddy took them to the zoo to play around in Amazonia.  Daddy text me this picture...Hollis climbed into the storage compartment of the stroller, what a little Monkey!!!!

R is for Rat!

This week's letter at Zoo class was R...so they got to pet a RAT!!!!  I have to admit the thing was kind of cute.  Now I am not saying I will EVER let a rat be a pet in my home, but as long as he stays at the zoo he is pretty cute :)  Clayton of course was beyond excited and willing to pet the rat!  Another great day at Zoo Class!

HIVES!!!!

My poor baby, and this picture was after they had gotten better!!!

It seems to be one thing after another around here lately.  On Monday I took Clayton to the Dr for what I thought was strep.  The Dr even thought it was strep, but after running a test, he decided it was viral.  Well, while I was there (I didn't have Hollis with me, Scott was off) I asked Dr. Cochran about these spots that I had seen on Hollis' belly that morning.  There were only 3 or 4 and they almost looked like bug bites at the time.  He didn't have any fever, and acted perfectly fine.  He didn't think it was anything to worry about unless it got worse, especially if there was no fever.  He said (which I assumed) that he couldn't really know for sure without seeing him.  Well, later Monday evening I was dressing Hollis for Kindermusik and when I took his PJ's off he was covered in big red blotches all over his chest, belly, back, in his diaper, and under and down his arms.  I couldn't believe it!  Still no fever, and he was as happy as could be, so I thought it must be an allergic reaction to something, but I couldn't think of anything new I had given him!  So I called the after hours and got him in at 7pm.  Thankfully (but comically since I had already seen him earlier in the day) Dr. Cochran was on at the after hours clinic.  I always feel so much better because my kids know him and trust him, and he knows their history.  We both smiled when he walked into the room...I said, "can you believe this?!"  His response was, "I'm guessing he has more than 3 or 4 of those spots now!"  As soon as I undressed him, he knew exactly what it was.  Hollis has been on amoxicillan for an ear infection, but this was the 10th and final day of it, and he had been on it before so I didn't think it could be that.  He explained that it was definitely the amoxicillan he was allergic too, and that it doesn't matter how many times they have taken it, that they can become sensitive to it.  Sooooo, we now know that Hollis is allergic to amoxicillan.  No more of that stuff!!!  The hives quickly went away, and we didn't even have to give him benedryl.  I'm just so thankful that his allergic reaction did not involve breathing issues!!!  Glad we found out early as well.

Hollis is 15 months old...how is this possible?! A look at month 14...

I cannot believe my Hollis man is growing so fast.  He is quite the hame, and such a loving cuddly baby!!!

Here is a look at all that he has been up to...

*Walks/runs everywhere!

*Can stand up from a sitting position without pulling up on anything

*Loves to play peek-a-boo and will put the blanket/scarf over his head on his own

*"Talks" up a storm

*Likes to do things on his own, becoming independent

*Loves to pull the pillow off of the couch

*Loves any toy that has a button to push!

*He is into everything...the trash, cabinets, and the computer (all the things he shouldn't be into) are his favorite things to get into

*Continues to be a good eater

*Still very shy, it takes him awhile to warm up to people and environments

*Continues to be a Mommy's boy, but beginning to be quite the Daddy's boy as well

*Loves to "beep" your nose

*Loves to stand in the fridge...he gets in there and stands on the ledge at the bottom everytime you open the fridge

*Continues to love bathtime and now likes to splash, doesn't mind getting water poured over his head, and loves to stomp his feet and walk back and forth in the tub!

*Scared to death of animals...especially dogs and cats!!!!  If we go to someones house with a dog or cat, he will cry upon seeing them!  Nothing has ever happened to make him be scared, but that is just his personality...very cautious and timid!

*Loves to wrestle and roll around on the floor.

*He is starting to have little tantrums when he isn't happy about something!  He will throw his lovey and scream.  You can tell he is mad about something!!!

*Lovey isn't just for bedtime, lovey goes everywhere with him along with that thumb...it is beyond sweet!!!

*Thinks his brother is the best thing since sliced bread...everything Clayton does is funny, and Clayton can always make him smile!

*His latest thing is handing you things.  He loves to get things and hand them to you, get them back, and then hand them to you again!

*Sleeps and naps well!

*Goes to the pantry or fridge when he wants something to eat or drink and will fuss at you until you let him in.  He know just what he wants too...he picks what snack he wants and then closes the pantry doors!

*His big thing now is pointing, he loves to point at things he wants or is interested in and "tells" you all  about it

*Pushes cars around on the floor

I love this picture, I think it is so neat with his reflection in the window
See who controls the remote in this house!?

He is such a sweet, sweet baby.  He can be very serious, and you can tell that he is always thinking and taking things in.  He is super smart and likes to get familiar with his surrounding before he will wander too far from Mommy.  He likes to mimic what his brother is doing.  He is just the joy and light of our lives along with his brother.  He is our sweet little Hollis man :)

Hollis...15 month Well Check!

Hollis did great at his well check!  Thanking God for healthy babies!!!  It amazes me how well both of my boys do for Dr. Cochran, he is like the baby whisperer!  Hollis is super shy and doesn't really take to anyone, but he will sit as still as can be and let Dr. Cochran check him out.  Dr. C even commented that he was amazed how well he sits, I don't even have to hold him or his hands during the exam.  He is such a good baby!  He weighed in at 20 lbs and 10 oz, and is 30 and 1/8 inches.  He is meeting all of his milestones and doing great.  He showed off his walking and talking skills for Dr. C in the office.  He is a curious little guy who likes to check everything out!  Dr. Cochran suggested that we switch the shots he got at this visit.  Usually they get the chicken pox and MMR at the 18 month visit, but apparently after the Super Bowl was held in Indianapolis, there were 12 or 13 cases of measles, and fear that it would spread.  He suggested going ahead and giving it to him so he would be protected...I trust him completely so we went ahead and got them.  Hollis isn't a fan of shots, but as soon as he is able to get back in Mommy's arms it doesn't take long for him to settle down :)

More Zoo Class Fun!!!

Last week in zoo class we met and to touch a Skink!!  This week they weren't allowed to touch, but they got to look at a hermit crab because they are talking about letter Q for quiet, and hermit crabs are quiet!  They also got to make a craft with colored sand, so much fun!  Both boys loved playing puzzles and looking at the animals in the zoo classroom, they have Oscar the skink, rats, birds, and a snake who all live in the classroom, so we get to see them every week!  This winter weather has been so crazy, that we again got to stay after class and walk around the zoo.  I love, love, love spending time with my boys and am so blessed to stay home with them.  I love days like today :)

New Converse Lizard shoes, how appropriate for Zoo Class!
 The boys working their puzzles
 Hard at work!
Clayton watching as his teacher Miss Mary show him the hermit crab!  He loves class and answers questions and tells his teacher all kinds of stories.  At the end of class today he gave Miss Mary a five and said, "Thanks Miss Mary!"  Too sweet :)
Clayton and his beautiful rainbow he made with colored sand!
The boys checking out the animals in the classroom...Hollis is keeping his eye on that skink!
 My little monkey!
Well, I attempted to get them both in a picture and looking at me, but as you can see that is no easy task!
 Big boy...checking out the animals!

Hollis and the rhino!

My Precious Valentines

I got this idea from Pinterest...it was hard to get a good picture, but Clayton is holding his hand out where the sucker is, like he is handing it to you!  They turned out really cute :)

I am so thankful for my precious little Valentines!!!  They were both excited to get their Valentine's surprise this morning!  I didn't want to get them candy, so instead we got them each a little toy.  Clayton loves collecting Thomas trains, so he got Stanley.  Hollis got Thomas bath toys.  Later in the evening, Gi Gi brought them their Valentine treats from her.  She got Clayton and Hollis Thomas trains too!!!  Clayton got Bash and Hollis got Mavis.  They also got Valentine M&M's, which they thoroughly enjoyed :)  They even got Valentine cards in the mail from Aunt Karen!!!!

Dinosaur Egg and Eccentric Outfit :)

On this particular day I had run to the store, while I was gone Clayton and Daddy went outside to play.  Clayton didn't want to take his pajamas off and it was a little cool and muddy...so why not wear your pajamas, Daddy's sock cap, and off course your frog rainboots.  I must say I don't think anyone else could pull this outfit off and look this darn irresistably cute!!!!

While at the store I bought a dinosaur egg!!!  I found it in the dollar section of Target.  You just put the egg in water...and tada...a dinosaur not only hatches, but grows!  He named his dinosaur Elvis!  Daddy helped him pick that name because it just so happened to be Elvis' birthday that day!
