Clayton's First Easter Egg Hunt!

Getting ready to go to the egg hunt

First Egg

On the move

Putting his eggs in his basket all by himself

My sweet baby boy

Checking out his goods

Emptying out his eggs

Every year our neighborhood has an Easter Egg hunt. Last year Clayton was way too little to go, but we were so excited to take him this year. We put him in his wagon with his Easter basket and rolled down to the neighbor's to get ready for the hunt. As soon as we got there, without us even pointing them out or saying anything, he started pointing at the eggs and reaching for them. We put him down and he walked for a short distance with mommy holding his hand, got to the first egg and put it in his basket like he had done this before. It was so cute. He crawled around and picked up a few more, but after 4 or 5 he was more interested in finding out what was inside the eggs. He was the youngest there, and the neighborhood kids were so sweet, they were finding eggs for him and putting them in his basket for him. It is such a joy to have all these moments with him!

First Hair Cut

Only appropriate to wear his Bad Hair Day shirt!
Before the haircut...getting a little long in the back...but sooo cute :( I hated to get it cut!
Getting ready!
Very serious...not so sure about this! How handsome is he?!?
Daddy, will you stop taking pictures and save me already!

Handsome little haircut :)

The little curl we saved...how precious!

I have been putting off Clayton's first haircut for awhile now. It was really hard for me, I know it's silly, but I knew it would make him look older and they grow so fast!!! Tonight we took him to my hairdresser Brianna and he did so good. She said he truly was one of the best babies she has ever done! He did so good, but he wasn't too sure when she started cutting around his ears. When she got the clippers out and turned them on, that is where he drew the line. He gave her a look that I have never seen him give before...he was pretty much saying if you come anywhere near me with those clippers lady I will bite you! He was such a trooper, and oh my gosh it is so cute :) Another milestone, another memory to treasure!

Month 13...

Peek a boo
I love this face!

Having a picnic snack in the living room...he loves it!

Sleeping in the bike trailer...

This just gets more and more fun everyday!!! Clayton continues to amaze us...of course we think he is the cutest, most intelligent baby in the entire world!!! :)

Some highlights of month 13...

He gives kisses now, and "loves" on you

Becoming more and more attached to the monkey blanky everyday!

Says...hot, more, dat? (what's that), mo mo (Elmo), No No No, moo (for cow), quack quack...and continues to babble on and on with serious intention!

Stands alone

Points with finger to everything, and wants you to take him to whatever he is pointing at

Dances on cue and anytime music comes on

March 2nd, he took 4 steps all alone, and continues to get braver and braver with the walking everyday

Winks on cue...this is absolutely ADORABLE!!!

Gives 5's

Points to his belly, hair, nose, toes, and ears on cue

Loves the following foods - blueberries, raspberries, peanut butter crackers, continues to love bananas, chips, muffins, cereal bars, pineapple, finally likes chicken, continues to LOVE grilled cheese...loves most fruit...not so fond of the veggies!

Cool rides...

Clayton's grandpa came over the other day on his motorcycle. We took him outside to check it out. I think he likes it, but he won't be taking a "real" ride on it...that would give mommy serious heart failure! :) We did get some cute pictures though, despite the fact that Clayton was at the Doctor the very next day with a double ear infection :( Poor baby!

It was so nice tonight that we decided to take Clayton for a walk in his new wagon he got from his Ganny for his first birthday. Daddy put it together for him today! He loved it, boy did he think he was big stuff. He had to bring along his blanky for the ride :)

My Little Bird Watcher...

Today we were playing in Clayton's room and he spotted two little birds outside his window playing. He was so intrigued by these birds. He kept pointing to them and "telling" me about them. He had his little nose pressed up to the window just watching quietly, and thinking. He watched those little birds for at least 20 minutes...just quietly, patiently watching them play! It was so sweet to watch, something I will always treasure...watching him discover this world!

Clayton's Newest Games...

Clayton is so funny, he loves to figure things out and will often times work on something for quite awhile until he finally figures it out. Lately, he has had a big time playing with his Mickey airplane when he discovered that the seat opens and you can put things inside it. Now, he fills up the seat with his toys and sippy cup and then drives the airplane all around the house. Occasionally he will stop and take a few items out, or add some new items. He will do this for hours. It is really cute to watch.

He has also discovered how fun it is to play INSIDE the toy box. He can't quite reach the toys in the bottom of the toy box, so Scott decided to put him in the toy box the other night. He loved it, in fact he screamed when we finally took him out!

He has also been "talking" on the phone for awhile now, but I could never catch him doing it when I had my camera. The other night he had his Elmo phone and was "talking" to Elmo and I caught it on camera...finally! Too cute!!!

1, 2, 3, 4...Yep That's Right, 4 steps!

Clayton took 4 steps all by himself on Tuesday, March 2nd. It was so exciting!!! He has been walking behind a toy and cruising furniture for quite some time now, and has been standing alone as well (although once he realizes he is doing it, he sits). He is still nervous about letting go, but his confidence is building and I am sure he will be walking everywhere very soon...maybe even in time for his first Easter Egg hunt!
