HOLLIS HAS HIS FIRST TOOTH!!!

Yep I have my first tooth, but you can't see it :)

My handsome little guy growing way too fast!

So exciting!!!  I was holding Hollis this morning and he is always chewing on the back of my hand and I felt something a little rough.  I stuck my finger in there and sure enough, he has his first tooth!  It is the bottom left.  Now I know why he had such a rough night Sunday and Thursday, his poor mouth was hurting.

Hollis is 7 months!!! Here is a look at month 6...

 What!?  I like prunes!
 Love my Daddy!
Wow!  Look at all these toys!

 Sweet, sweet Hollis

 Let me try another bite!

 I'm 7 months old today!!!

Seriously!?  Does it get any cuter or sweeter than this!!!???

*Hollis has tried several veggies this month including carrots, squash, and green beans.  I have yet to find a fruit or veggie he doesn't like!  Maybe he will be my good eater!

*Is so entertained by his big brother, Clayton doesn't even have to do anything and he just chuckles at him.

*He is the biggest cuddler.  He is such a sweet, sweet baby.  He loves to grab your face and bring you close and will cuddle up on your chest.  Such a doll baby!!!

*Can go from laying down to sitting all by himself!

*Isn't officially "crawling", but he is so very close.  He moves all over the place, and he actually scooted himself forward by pushing off several times last night, so any minute now he will be crawling everywhere!

*Has a little elephant blanky baby he likes to cuddle with at night, he holds onto it with his left hand and pulls it close to his face and then he has to have that right thumb.  He looks so dang cute and sweet sucking that thumb!

*Goes from sitting to laying position

*making all kinds of consonant vowel sounds...my personal favorite it "mamamamama", but he also says "bababababa", that one doesn't go with the actual object baba because he doesn't take one...he makes all kinds of other sounds, always just babbling and cooing away!

*Such a happy, laid back baby

*Big time Mommy's boy!  Of course I love that ;)

*Can move objects from one hand to another

*Tried a real banana the other day...Daddy shared his :)

*Loves to be rocked and sang to

*For some reason he think that Dora the Explorer is hilarious.  Clayton will be watching it, and Hollis just stares at the TV and belly laughs!

*Still in the stranger  mode, if he isn't really familiar with someone and they try to talk to him or hold him he puckers up and starts screaming and looking for Mommy, Daddy, or someone familiar like Gi Gi

*Loves to be tickled especially loves you to get his tummy

*Puts everything in his mouth!

*Very proficient at sitting up now, hardly ever falls over

*Loves to eat his toes :)

*"Sings" himself to sleep

*Getting better about sleeping at night, for the most part only waking once or twice...but we still have some nights he wants to nurse all night

*If you hold his hands he can basically stand by himself.  He has had strong legs and neck since birth

*Very nosy...doesn't want to miss anything.  He is getting to the age that it takes a little longer to nurse because if he hears or see anything he has to stop and look around and check things out!

*Tried swinging him on the new swing set, but he is not into that at all yet!

He is just growing and changing so fast.  He is seriously the sweetest, most laid back baby.  We go all over town to the museum, zoo, library, etc. and he just goes with the flow.  I know I say it every time, but he is just such a little blessing from above, and we are so blessed to have him in our lives.  I love watching my boys together and they way that Hollis looks at Clayton is just precious.  He already adores him at 7 months old, I know that they are going to be big buddies.  We love watching him meet all of his milestones and seeing his personality just blossoming.  We love our Hollis Man!!!

Father's Day 2011

We want to be just like Daddy!

The finished products!
For Father's Day we met Pop Pop and Uncle B at Hooter's for lunch.  The boys did great!  We gave everyone their presents.  We got Daddy a picture frame with a poem about wanting to be like Daddy.  The first two pictures were in the frame along with the poem.  I also took the boys to Fired Up Pottery and made a mug with Clayton's hand print and Hollis' foot print.  Then I let Clayton pick out anything he wanted to paint for Daddy.  He picked out a horse and painted it in MANY, MANY colors.  He had a ball doing that.  We thought it would be perfect for Daddy's office!  I am so blessed to have such an amazing man in my life who is an equally amazing father to my two beautiful boys.  I had an amazing father who was my biggest fan, loved me unconditionally, and never missed a single event in my life and so did Scott.  It is so nice knowing that my boys will have such a strong and positive role model to guide them through life as well.  He is such a hands on Daddy, and would pretty much rather be with his boys than anything else.  I don't know too many Dad's that are as hands on as he is.  He used to workout after work or ride his mountain bike, but since the boys he either does it on his lunch, during their naps, or after they go to bed so that he doesn't miss out on any time with them.  He also gave us the gift of letting me be home to raise them.  While some Dad's who work all day want to come home and relax, put up their feet, and watch TV...Scott barely gets in the door and he is already playing with the boys on the floor, taking them for a ride in the bike trailer, or just exploring outside.  I could literally go on and on with examples of the the amazing Daddy that he is.  I am in awe of him and thank God every night for sending him to me...I couldn't ask for a better husband or father!  Happy Father's Day!!!

Mommy and Clayton
Scott took the day off and we took Clayton to Holiday World for the first time today! He loved it of course. I think he was a little overwhelmed by it all at first, but he soon got into the groove. He rode lots of rides, his favorite being the airplanes and train. He also loved climbing all of the bridges and levels of the playhouses in Holidog Town. His all time favorite thing was of course the water. He had a big time splashing, going under, and going down all of the kid water slides. He is such a little dare devil. Half the time I had to catch him at the end of the slides because he wouldn't go down with Daddy, he wanted to go on his own. It amazes me how he will go all the way under water and get up and keep going. He is a little fish!!! Most kids his age, and even older, won't go under water! We ended the day with one last ride on the lazy river and icecream. We had a wonderful day, and I think he enjoyed having Mommy and Daddy all to himself. Hollis spent the day getting lots of loving from Gi Gi. It was just too hot, and he is still so little, I knew he would be more comfortable at home. Can't wait to take them both!!!

"Uncle B Play Drums"

My handsome little Clayton...notice he even has his hair gel in for this rockin' occasion!
Handsome Hollis in his drum shirt
Uncle B on the drums
Clayton clapping and yelling "Yay!" at the end of a song!
Dancing and playing at the same time :)
Clayton loves his Uncle B, but he hasn't ever gotten to see him play drums! Uncle B has played drums for a long time and it is a passion of his, so we have been dying to let the boys see him in action. The only problem is that most of the time the performances aren't in a kid friendly type setting. Well, tonight Uncle B played at the WC Handy Fest in the park in Henderson, so they would finally get to see him. I had talked about this all day with Clayton, and dressed both boys in their drum shirts! Clayton said, "Uncle B play drums" all day long. He enjoyed seeing him, but I think he was a bit confused by the whole thing. Uncle B was way up on stage and I'm not sure he really connected that was him up there! He was definitely dancing to the music in the crowd though. He also found some friends with lots of cars and trucks to play with. He had a big time, and did not want to leave. Hollis got some loving from our friend Christy, she didn't want to give him up! He was tired and cuddly and spent most of the time sucking his thumb and snuggling Christy. I hope we have more opportunities like this one for Clayton and Hollis to see Uncle B in action!

Hollis' First Wagon Ride

Since Hollis can officially sit up now, and it was so nice last night, we decided to take a wagon ride. I wasn't sure if he would be able to do it while the wagon went over bumps and up and down hills since there is just a lap belt in the wagon...so we started out slow in the driveway. He did great! He is such a big boy, and sitting up so well, we went ahead and walked the neighborhood. He loved it, he just looked around and every now and then he would chew on the side of the wagon :) I look forward to many more wagon rides with my boys!
