Hollis is 16 months old!! Here is a look at Month 15...
Hollis is getting so big, and doing his very best to keep up with his big brother. He also has a mind of his own, he will let you know when he is or isn't happy and when he wants something! He is just too darn cute, and so smart!!!!
Here is a look at what he has been up to over the past month!
*Words...he now says bubbles, this, no no, ball, night night "ni ni", these are just the new ones he has added to his vocabulary! We are working hard on saying "Clayton" ;)
*Loves music and dancing, he is so funny...he rocks and walks around clapping
*LOVES, and I mean LOVES outside. He would stay out there forever if he could! He especially likes it now that he can run around with freedom!
*Has mastered stairs up and down and can climb the rock wall on the playset already!!! He keeps me on my toes that is for sure!
*He goes to the pantry and fridge and lets you know exactly what he wants and will fuss at the doors until you let him in. Then when he picks exactly what he wants he shuts the doors.
*Has discovered a love for books, and will pick a book, hand it to you, and sit and wait for you to read it. It is so sweet!
*Cutting all of his molars and once and they are taking FOREVER to break through! Poor baby :(
*Well, we discovered he is allergic to amoxicillan, therefore, he is allergic to all "cillans"
*Does not like to share Mommy, with anyone! Not even his brother! He will literally try to push Clayton off of my lap if they are both sitting on my lap! At Kindermusik another little girl came and sat on my lap because Hollis had gotten up and he literally fell apart!
*Starting to get after his brother, when his brother does something he doesn't like...he will fuss at him and try to get him back!
*Brings things to you and puts them in your hand if he wants you to do something, like a toy that has a button he can't get to work, or a certain game on my Iphone...yes, the child is 16 months old and already knows how to work an Iphone...crazy!
*"Talks" up a storm. He sure does know what he is saying, and he means it!
*Pretends to talk on the phone, it is beyond cute :)
*Very animated!!!
*He is always watching and thinking. He loves to figure out how toys work, and will watch you do something (like put laundry into a basket) and will follow your lead and start to do it too! He is definitely a thinker like his Daddy, that brain of his is always working!!!
He is the sweetest, most loving baby and we love him more than words can express. He is so much fun to watch and even more fun to watch he and Clayton interact with each other. I look forward to watching each and every milestone, he is pure joy!
Hollis The Diaper Genie!!!
The other night, I had a hair appointment, so as soon as Scott got home I left. Hollis was playing in the toy room when I left and Clayton was watching TV in the living room. About 45 minutes after I left, Scott called me. He asks, "Did you change Hollis and not put a diaper back on him before you left?!" I, laughing, said, "Ummm, No!" He continues to tell me that he just now realizes, after Hollis takes a seat in his lap, that he has no diaper on! Not only does he not have a diaper on, but there is no diaper to be found!!! He likes to throw things away, so I asked if he checked the trash can, and he said that he had and there was no diaper in the trash! After doing a little search, Scott discovered that Hollis had taken the diaper off and put it into the toy box. Thankfully, there were no surprises in that diaper if you know what I mean!!! So, moral of this story, Hollis can no longer go around with just a diaper without pants on top! We tried it again the other day and sure enough, diaper genie Hollis had it off again in no time. Such a character :)
Veggie Tales Live!
Veggie Tales Live was coming to CFC, so we decided to get tickets and I am so glad we did!!! We didn't tell Clayton until the very last minute. He just knew we were going to a surprise. He was beyond excited when he got to CFC and saw Veggie Tales stuff everywhere! We had great seats and both boys really loved it. I was surprised just how much Hollis loved it. I really didn't think he would get that into it, and thought he may even be a little scared when the giant talking vegetables came out on stage...boy was I wrong. He was standing on my lap the entire time, smiling, clapping, and dancing. He absolutely LOVED it!!! Clayton was just mesmerized...he really thought the light effects were cool. I am so glad we got tickets, I would definitely go again. Gi Gi even bought them both a Veggie Tale stuffed animal as a souvenir!!! Clayton picked out Larry the cucumber for himself, and Bob the tomato for Hollis :) It was a great time!
AMAZING!!!!
I knew that Hollis looked a lot like Scott, but we were looking through old pictures the other day and I came across a baby picture of Scott. WOW! They are like identical twins! Amazing!!!
So Cool!
We went to the zoo on Saturday morning, and to our surprise the porcupine from Amazonia was out to visit. They had him on a table with no leash or anything, and he was the friendliest little thing! We got to pet him, he felt like plastic! We also got to feed him. Clayton and I both fed him a banana, and he took it out of our hands with his little paws so gently! Hollis was not to sure, everytime he came near him, Hollis went the other direction. He does not share his brother's fearless approach with animals :) It was a great day!
Clayton's First Dentist Appointment!
Clayton had his first dentist appointment and he did fabulous!!!!! He let them clean his teeth, and let Dr. Heister check them out, no problem! I could not have been more proud of him. I was very impressed with Dr. Heister and his entire staff as well, they were great with him. He was amazed by the TV on the ceiling, it was the first thing he told his Daddy about when he got home. He got an A on his report card, and Dr. Heister was very impressed with how well his teeth had been taken care of. He got a Lightning McQueen toothbrush, stickers, and a balloon! Hollis got a toothbrush and balloon too! My Clayton is getting to be such a big boy, and he makes us so proud! Way to go Clayton!!!
After his dentist appointment, we met Gi Gi at Firehouse Subs for lunch! Both the boys got their very own fireman hat! :)
Love Those Curls!!!
Hollis has these beautiful curls in the back. He really needs it cut, but I cannot bring myself to cut them off...they are absolutely precious!!!!!
