Happy New Year!
We have kept New Years pretty low key since Clayton has been born. We would honestly rather be with our kiddos on New Years, and it scares me to be on the road. My how your priorities change when you are parents! Funny thing is we don't mind in the least, we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Don't get me wrong, going out would be fun and I don't think there is anything wrong with parents going out on New Years Eve at all, it is just our personal preference to have a more laid back evening involving our kids. Our friends the Falconers graciously hosted us for the evening. They have two little girls, so Clayton had a ball playing with them. We had a mexican theme for the food, champagne, and desserts. The grown ups played win, lose, or draw while the kiddos watched movies and played in the toy room. Hollis hung with us and walked more than he eve had at their house. He literally kept walking across the room!!! While we were playing the game he was enjoying a little snack. I didn't get a picture of Clayton, he was too busy playing :) We lasted until about 10:30, which is super late for our boys, and we were actually in bed by 11. It was so much fun and a great way to ring in the new year. We had a blessed 2011, and I look forward to all that 2012 will bring!
